My Work

These are pretty old pictures, from around 1999, so much has changed.  I not only enjoy radio as a hobby, I also work with electronics all day. I have three main buildings, a 12x24 ft storage area, a 24x48 foot storage and work area (welding, painting, circuit board and chemical work), and a 24x48 foot pole barn (electronics and fine finishing of sheet metal).

Here is my main workshop. .....

Going inside I have a workbench area. I can measure almost anything up to 2GHz. My newest purchase is an Agilent Technologies 4396 combination Analyzer. I also have several vector voltage and phase meters, selective signal analysis and level measurement gear, gain and loss measurement equipment, impedance measurement devices, power level meters from microwatt to 50kW both pulse and average power, a five-foot-tall water cooled dummy load, and other gear........

Equipment at this bench includes a 8753D vector network analyzer (lower left), spectrum analyzers, storage and conventional scopes, two selective level meters, and three dual-channel vector voltmeters....

I can wind coils or do normal lathe work on my new metal lathe..........

I also can punch sheet metal........

Mill and drill up to 12-inch holes......

........and everything else, including steel and aluminum welding. I can chop and saw aluminum and soft metals....

Sheer steel and aluminum sheets with foot sheer and band saws.......

Sometimes I get to build a big ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) amplifier or broadcast amps (3 phase 3-22MHz 3CX15,000A7).......

three 3CX15000A7's 3-22 MHz for radio intenational tanger

Sometimes I design for receiver use at very low power and high frequencies..........

or phasing systems.......
